PM: As long as the Russia-Ukraine war is not over, the world economy will still be affected

Phnom Penh: The Royal Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, said that he did not believe that the world economy could recover easily as long as the Russia-Ukraine war continues.

Speaking at a meeting with nearly 20,000 workers at the Moradok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh's Chroy Changvar district, Hun Sen said the current major markets were the United States and Europe, where both countries were facing a crisis.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said that with the vision of this crisis, the Royal Government of Cambodia is trying to expand more markets that will be able to attract and increase Cambodia's exports to those markets.

"That is why the Royal Government is trying not only to market with the United States and Europe," he said. "We have opened markets with other countries, such as Korea, China, the United Arab Emirates and other countries, to secure Cambodia's export market."

According to Hun Sen, in 2022, Cambodia's exports amounted to more than $ 29 billion, of which the garment and footwear industry accounted for about $ 13 billion, accounting for one-third of Cambodia's exports.
